The best dining experience in Edinburgh!
Been fantastic to see the team and your ventures evolve. This was a seamless night of service, gastronomy, wine and most of all passion.
Sauces weren’t created for spoons but that fabulous flatbread.
The wine pairing was the best, wow the encyclopaedia was in the sommelier’s brain and delivered with aplomb to our glasses, rather than bound in some weighty, unintelligible tome of a list. Brilliant!
Thank you for all for a fabulous evening and we will be back.

Had a delightful lunch here. We had the 5 course tasting menu, a 7 course set menu was also available. It is set menu only but the food was fantastic in terms of presentation and more importantly taste. Staff were friendly and professional.

Food superb with stunning presentation. Sommelier supremely knowledgeable and wine great. Restaurant beautifully balanced between elegant style and comfort ( don’t think I’ve ever had a more comfortable seat at a dinner table). Music uncommonly well judged and enjoyable and at just the right level. A huge amount of thought, work, taste and skill redolent ! Thank you for a wonderful evening and an excellent dinner !!

I had such a great solo dining experience. The food was amazing and impossible to pick a favorite. The wine pairings matched really well and definitely enhanced the flavors. I wish I could eat like this every night, but what a great place to splurge. Seeing the staff and chefs in action was really fun and interesting as well.

Had dinner here last month. The restaurant is in a beautifully furnished townhouse with nice food and ambience. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the bar upstairs was very nice, it would be even better if the cocktail menus had more locally inspired recipes.

Really top experience, very high end cuisine and friendly service with chefs presenting many of their own dishes to the table with details on the ingredients and preparation. It is way more than a meal - foodie heaven.

This was an exceptional dining experience, with 14 creative courses centered around aged seafood that were refreshing and perfectly balanced. The meal began with three small bites at the upstairs bar
· Alp Blossom cheese and Bluefin Tuna were standouts.
The Cured King Fish with radish and Umai caviar was light and elegant, but the highlight was the Scottish Langoustine with burnt apple paste—perfectly tender and paired with a crunchy kataifi crust for a delightful textural contrast.
Other favorites included the Squid, served like delicate pho noodles in a flavorful broth, and the indulgent Wagyu presented three ways, especially paired with toasted bread.
The desserts and cheese course, especially the Laganory with hibiscus,were outstanding, and the non-alcoholic pairings added creative, tea-inspired flavors.
A perfect destination for food lovers seeking innovation and depth!

Absolutely speechless at the quality of the food.. the time spent to perfect the scallop course was well worth it.. that blew all of my senses! The wine pairing was second to none.. I can't wait to return to Edinburgh and do it all again!

A phenomenal dining experience, 5*
We went for lunch and had the 7 course tasting menu. Without doubt the best food I’ve eaten in Edinburgh and one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had.
Each course was crafted to perfection, the service was on point from start to finish and the atmosphere was incredible.
Staff were welcoming and attentive and the surroundings were beautiful.
If you’re wanting fine dining in Edinburgh then stop searching and book this place.
Will definitely be retuning to try the 10 course evening menu.

Still thinking about the langoustine tail and the lobster “snack”. Exquisite food in a lovely setting and everyone there seems to have a real passion for the food.
Special mention to the soft drink pairing which were all beautifully presented and explained. They also kept up with all of the tasting menu courses and had been prepared to match.
Being able to walk upstairs afterwards to rooms at 21212 made it a perfect evening.

I don’t know if I’ll ever find words to describe how extraordinary Lyla is. Every detail is refined to perfection, each dish a burst of fireworks on the palate (their chawanmushi, WOW), paired with exquisite wines. I couldn’t stop smiling throughout the dinner as each bite sparked a symphony of flavors. As someone aptly put it – Lyla simply has to be experienced to understand its supremacy.

Amazing dinner, ambiance, wine pairing, and experience. Every dish was spot on and spectacular. Savored every second, bite, and wine. Attention to detail and execution were phenomenal. Chef, pastry chef and sommelier were perfect. Truly the best tasting menu and wine pairing we have ever had. Best fine dining in Edinburgh and so far above the others.

Their ingredients selection are superb. Top quality seafood with excellent service. I personally love scallop dish the most, wagyu is also really good. Try wine pairing if you are into it!

Food was absolutely delicious - every course was delicious, perfectly balanced in flavours and presented beautifully! The staff were lovely, warm, and knowledgeable and incredibly relaxed. The small dining room was tastefully decorated and the ambience was perfect. Fun additions like the curing cupboards in the bar and a bit of theatre in some of the dishes were fantastic! A chance encounter with Stuart Ralston was a treat! We will be back!
